My love of travel began with my trip to Bangladesh on an internship with the Grameen Bank. During the program, I spent time in the village of Amdala close to Dhaka and met many borrowers whose lives had changed after access to microcredit. This woman proudly showed off her home and talked about how the Grameen Bank had championed female empowerment in the village and helped many like her to be able to afford a nice home. Even today when I think of all the borrowers I met in the village, this face stands out in my memory.
